Voyaging with the Space Maven
Galaxies soar endlessly, fire rainbows, violet moons, ruby suns, psychedelic flashes, halos, sunset afterglows and auroras, superclusters, galactic filaments and voids, under an endless twilight that illuminates the ways that Madhavi Devi and Howard Givens use color in their work to explore the possibilities of depth, motion, scale, and atmosphere. Celestial Expanse is mastered in stereo and is also available as a Dolby Atmos/Spatial listening experience.
Deep Field Audio reaches deeper into sound to explore the unknown. What you will hear is deep cosmic electronica, evolving from the transcendental ambient explorations of their previous collaboration Source of Compassion, Howard Givens and Madhavi Devi contemplate the spaces beyond the horizon and the star-packed night skies with a new single release The Celestial Expanse, a deep-field listening experience of layered, interwoven synths blended with electronic and acoustic sound sources that is both organic and otherworldly.
With Source of Compassion, Howard Givens and Madhavi Devi explore a mindful relationship with music, spiritual practice, and the self-healing arts. Both are well versed in this form of ambient electronic music, each having dedicated many years to the style, while refining their expression of it through previous works such as Tibet and Life Flows Water. These two seasoned artists seamlessly merge their musical expressions; balancing the serene, pastoral and non-rhythmic, with the occasional intensity of evolving pulses and beats, all of which draw on the heart-mind energy that inspires the collaborative space and is at the source of spiritual discovery.
Givens and Madhavi Devi flawlessly morphed from live studio recording techniques to multi-instrument choreography, including modular and analog synths, digital synths, samples, and acoustic elements to explore a mindful relationship with music, spiritual practice, and the self-healing arts. These two seasoned artists miraculously merge their musical expressions; balancing the serene, pastoral and non-rhythmic, with the occasional intensity of evolving pulses and beats, all of which draw on the heart-mind energy that inspires the collaborative space and is at the source of spiritual discovery.
For Givens, the art of music, live or recorded, is all about an illusion that intends to convey the listener to another state of experience. In addition to being a co-founder of Spotted Peccary Music, he is directly involved with creating, recording, and producing the subtlety of sounds generated from various electronic sound sources including hardware analog and digital synthesizers, software synthesizers and samplers, and effects processing, and blending them with acoustic sounds including piano, drums, guitars, percussion, ethnic and other worldly instruments, and environmental sounds. Other Albums by Givens include The Bodhi Mantra, Being of Light, Life Flows Water, and the single "Spirit Holy Rising" (all with Craig Padilla), and as a member of the collective Brain Laughter, In the Land of Power and Not Far From A Distant Sun. He has also recently collaborated with Madhavi Devi and Craig Padilla on their live performance/release Precipice of a Dream as part of Steve Roach’s SoundQuest Fest 2021.
Electronic musician, harpist, and meditative sound painter Madhavi Devi produces and performs music with intention towards supernal inner growth and development, composing inspiring sound-spaces reflective of mystical vibrations and light from the center of being. Her critically acclaimed releases feature rich textures and nuanced melodic structures that are evocatively moving and intimate, and yet celestial in scope. Nature sounds, various acoustic percussive elements, and subtly crafted electronic sub-components all add eloquence to her sonic palette and choreography.
With several releases over the last couple decades, Madhavi Devi continues to explore her innate sensitivities towards musical conversation, evolving sound as a vital connection to personal discovery. Madhavi Devi also has released The Truth of Being, and Tibet (with Deborah Martin). In addition to her music, Madhavi Devi is an active visual artist, whose original work is featured on the cover art for The Celestial Expanse, as well as The Truth of Being, and Source of Compassion. The official video for The Celestial Expanse launches a three-part video series of fractal visualizations created by her "to produce this VERY intricate fractal exploration of numinal space”, thus unifying the complete visual-music expression that is the foundation of art for Madhavi Devi.
Perhaps Madhavi Devi has the coolest job in the known universe. There has been more than one Madhavi Devi on our planet, but this one is the only one that I know of currently in Austin, Texas. Terrestrial name: Cheryl Gallagher. It is her intention to share the beauty, the divine, and unique inspiration as musical meditation and spiritual discovery. She appears at events, meditation and other retreats, lectures and conferences world-wide in her unique mission of cultivating peace, compassion and self-awareness through her art and music.
"I’ve been diving deep into my transformational painting process, immersing into meditations of deep intuitive creative flow, a process that has been such a fulfilling practice that generates really unique images to contemplate and learn from on a soul level. Then I take those paintings and work with them in a variety of creative digital art software platforms, one of which I generate the video content shown here."
Cheryl Gallagher is a creative content specialist, professional musician and artist, as well as president of Gracie G Productions, in Austin, USA. As a visual artist, Madhavi creates beautiful atmospheric spaces, inspired mostly by Indian and Asian ancient art, spiritual culture and other natural influences especially intended for meditation, divine development, healing, and support of inner wisdom and truth. She currently serves as Minister of Culture for Asgardia, as well as being a participating member/supporter of several other space industry and creative arts initiatives, including Spaceborn United, the Human Space Project, MUSEA, Austin Creative Alliance, and the Spaceibles Space Art NFT platform at Copernic Space. She is a current Journeyman member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists, and a voting member of the Recording Academy.
Asgardia, also known as the Space Kingdom of Asgardia and Asgardia the Space Nation, is a micronation formed by a group of people who have launched a satellite into Earth orbit. They refer to themselves as "Asgardians" and they have given their satellite the name "Asgardia-1."
The Asgardians have adopted a constitution and they intend to access outer space free of the control of existing nations and establish a permanent settlement on the Moon by 2043. The Space Kingdom of Asgardia has claimed that it is now "the first nation to have all of its territory in space." Asgardia aims to unite people in a transnational, equal and progressive society to build a new home for humanity in space and protect our cradle — planet Earth. To begin, Asgardia intends to launch a series of satellites into Earth orbit. Asgardia aims to ensure peaceful space exploration, protect our home planet from cosmic threats and lead the development of new Space Law to eliminate militarization of space.
Asgardia is derived from Old Norse Asgard, taken from the name of one of the Nine Worlds in the Norse religion and home to the Æsir tribe of gods, hopefully ancient religious texts may be uncovered someday to determine the fates of those who had been lost to time.
The worlds beyond our world, whose clues only reveal themselves when the light of our day grows low enough to view the dramatic and brilliantly colorful heavens after dusk, suggest a vastness we cannot possibly comprehend above our heads.
The more distant an object is, the younger it appears; its light has taken longer to reach human observers. In literature, vision and prophecy are literary devices used to present a possible timeline of future events. They can be distinguished by vision referring to what an individual sees happen. For the ancients, prediction, prophesy, and poetry were often intertwined. Both poets and prophets claimed to be inspired by forces outside themselves. H. G. Wells first advocated for future studies in a lecture delivered in 1902.
Predictions have often been made, from antiquity until the present, by using paranormal or supernatural means such as prophecy or by observing omens. Methods including water divining, astrology, numerology, fortune telling, interpretation of dreams, and many other forms of divination, have been used for millennia to attempt to predict the future. These means of prediction have not been proven by scientific experiments.
In science, a prediction is a rigorous, often quantitative, statement, forecasting what would be observed under specific conditions; for example, according to theories of gravity, if an apple fell from a tree it would be seen to move towards the center of the earth with a specified and constant acceleration. The scientific method is built on testing statements that are logical consequences of scientific theories. This is done through repeatable experiments or observational studies.
As H. G. Wells wrote about the human future in 1936, it is all the universe or nothing.
Evolution of the human species for survival in space is an ongoing speculation among scientists, researchers and thought leaders, people living billions of miles from Earth will start feeling like a completely disparate group than their Earth counterparts, breeding a "super-race" of humans, which would open strange new moral issues. It's quite conceivable that our species would become something altogether different. Behold, Homo Galacticus? Homo Extraterrestrialis?
What we have available to us right now is imagination, art and music, to prepare the way, seamlessly morphing from live studio recording techniques to multi-instrument choreography – including modular and analog synths, digital synths, samples, and acoustic elements – intending to explore the meditative nature of electronic music.
Here are some links to some projects of interest that Gallager is involved in:

The MUSEA community is a global art movement dedicated to self-expression as a method for consciousness and compassion through the arts. Musea is where story, art, somatic science and activism intersect. Museum University Sanctuary Ecosystem Ateliar.
ACA’s (Austin Creative Alliance) steady, long term advocacy commitment has already brought millions of new dollars for public investment in Austin culture. In 2016, they proposed a non-profit real estate holding company for creative spaces to address affordability. City Council subsequently adopted this concept, The Austin Cultural Trust, assigning it to the newly created Austin Economic Development Corporation, for which we also advocated. ACA also proposed and pushed for funding streams for the Cultural Trust, such as the $12 million Creative Spaces Bond, approved by voters in 2018, and the Iconic Venue Fund, passed by Council in 2020.
Copernic Space is the marketplace for companies and individuals to buy space assets and invest in the space projects of tomorrow, today. Working towards enabling the democratization of access to the space economy through a Web3 platform which scales commercialization and financing for space companies while allowing everyone to participate in the NewSpace economy.
The Copernic Space Platform is the foundation by which users can buy, sell, and manage their space assets, whether that be ownership of real assets in space or their direct stake in financing space ventures. Each user has their own Space Vault where owned space assets can be accessed or sold commercially through the marketplace we call SpaceMart, where companies can register and place offers for their space assets.
Partnering with Copernic Space and the Lady Rocket Foundation, this unique humanitarian effort aims to utilize satellite imagery and tracking technologies to innovate a more streamlined process behind saving the rhino population, while serving as a viable model for better problem-solving on Earth from space through the new models of financial support that cryptocurrency enables.
International Association of Astronomical Artists
Science and art expand the human mind and soul and should be supported for the betterment of us all. The mind and imagination of the artist can go where a camera cannot (yet!). "Let us take you on a journey to the farest reaches of the universe!"
The object of the IAAA, as a non-profit foundation, is to implement and participate in astronomical and space art projects, to promote education about astronomical art and to foster international cooperation in artistic work inspired by the exploration of the Universe.
What will humans look like in the distant future? The future of human evolution in space could mean both biological and technological changes for our species.
Explorations of inner and outer space have been pretty central to our creative development, and my personal explorations are magnified by the work I am doing in the Space Industry and Space Art Community. I work culturally and creatively with the several Space industry non-profits and think-tanks, I promote how important Space Art is in communicating futuristic and nascent scientific discoveries, by exposing new concepts to the rest of humanity and one can see how connected our science fiction programming and movies have been to technological advances. The aim is building new orbital and planetary civilizations of peaceful evolved humans, leaving the worst traits of outdated hostile competitive and destructive dynamics behind and reaching our best potential as a species, likewise serving terrestrial based humanity in this same way.
The colonization of space is beginning now. Space colonists will be ordinary families and communities who will not be on a mission but who are intending to live out their lifetimes, some in free-floating colonies—enormous habitats built from lunar or asteroid metals, or perhaps to take part in the colonization of Mars. On Mars, there might be further, internal divergence as some populations elect to live sheltered in underground habitats, while others prefer to take the increased radiation risks to live in surface habitats offering greater mobility.
Imagine a Space Ark, a giant craft carrying space colonists on a one-way, multigenerational voyage far from Earth.
Outer space, commonly shortened to space, is the expanse that exists beyond Earth and its atmosphere and between celestial bodies. Galaxies are organized into groups and clusters, often within larger superclusters, that are strung along great filaments between nearly empty voids, forming a web that spans the observable universe. The exploration and exploitation of outer space resources are altering human culture both on Earth and in orbit.
For the first time in history, a species need not merely react and adapt to environmental changes, but they can plan for a space culture appropriate for extraterrestrial migration.
Outer space is not completely empty—it is a hard vacuum containing a low density of particles, predominantly a plasma of hydrogen and helium, as well as electromagnetic radiation, magnetic fields, neutrinos, dust, and cosmic rays. Outer space does not begin at a definite altitude above the Earth's surface. The Kármán line, an altitude of 100 km (62 mi) above sea level, is conventionally used as the start of outer space in space treaties and for aerospace records keeping. The size of the whole universe is unknown, and it might be infinite in extent.
"As my skill with these art programs grow, the videos are getting cooler and cooler. It's also been such a joy to me personally be able to offer my own art for the cover of this release once again and to produce this VERY intricate fractal exploration of numinal space. My art on the cover to me offers our audience an additional soul-smiling Namaste in its true meaning, direct from our hearts to our so appreciated listeners and fans."
